April 9, 2014 Some wonderful new changes.. You may have noticed that there are some beautiful new items in the magic shop. It's up to you to figure out what they do! The forums will now be ordered by the last time they were replied to, so you know which is the hottest topic! A few other things have been moved around. I will continue to make updates, so I apologize if you come across a broken feature.

Have fun with stuff! >Spook  January 19, 2013 I know I haven't posted any news in a while, but a lot of things have been going on at Gurupets. Recently there has been a hacker at another pet site who has caused some unfortunate users to be redirected to Gurupets. As the creator, I had no knowledge of these redirections. It has nothing to do with Gurupets or me. I am sorry that some of you felt that I was trying to shamelessly promote Gurupets. Please know that I am aware that the best way to get more members is to improve Gurupets, not to trick people into coming here. If you have further comments, I'd love to hear them. As usual, Gurumail me or use the contact form to get a hold of me. >Spook April 7, 2012 Lots to say... I know I haven't updated the news in a while, but I've been very busy updating the site! A feature that every good petsite has to have has finally come to Gurupets! You can now feed your pets. On the My Pets page, if your pet has not been fed recently, it will be "starving". Feed it something from your inventory (most food items work) and it will become full! Of course, that doesn't last long. Be sure to feed your pets so they don't starve. As usual, the rest of the changes I made are hardly visible for you users (fixing "delete items from store", etc.) but I have been working hard to make Gurupets waaay more fun. Feel free to Gurumail me or use the contact form if you have any ideas you want me to know! >Spook March 17, 2012 Great news, everyone! The Adoptin Centre is now up and running! You can disown your pet from the My Pets page and then adopt a new one at the adoption centre! There is currently no price for adopting a pet, but that may change. Another fabulous new feature is that everyone now has the ability to change their pets' descriptions! Sadly, apostrophes cannot be used in these descriptions. So get customizing! Oh, and you can access the Adoption Centre from Gurucity, right next to the Create a Pet building. Be nice to your pets! >Spook March 15, 2012 It's been a while... But I have fixed quite a few things. The cupcakes are back it working order! And I think I might make them cheaper because I know how difficult it is to get gurupoints. Next I'm going to be working on a pet adoption centre! That means you'll be able to disown your unwanted pets and adopt new ones. This shouldn't take too long to make, so hold on tight! (aka no one) I have fixed up a few things here and there, but some aspects of Gurupets are still not working (purcahsing items, creating pets, searching for items). Hopefully these will be fixed up soon. In the meantime, I'll be thinking of ways to improve the look of Gurupets and ways to attract new users. Look for changes coming up! >Spook December 28, 2011 It's been a very long time, but daddy and I finally fixed the login. Logging in to gurupets is now possible, but many other things are not. User profiles do not work, nor do the forums or pet profiles. Please do not update your preferences unless you want to lose everything. I will continue to work hard to get Gurupets working again, but it is likely that it will never work again without being redone from scratch. It may take a while, but there should be good changes to come! >Spook December 26, 2010 Now you can add friends on gurupets! To add a friend, go to their profile and click on the smiley face. That will send them a request that they can accept or decline. To see a list of your friends or pending requests, click on Friends in the sidebar. And I have more exciting news! Gurupets has new art, thanks to my friend Wawa! Say hello to the new cake slice, coffee and hot chocolate.    As a celebration for this new art I am placing the Blue Cake Slice and Pink Cake Slice back in the Foodstore. Enjoy! I hope there is more fabulous art to come! >Spook November 21, 2010 Lots of changes have been made to gurupets, though they are hardly noticeable. First and foremost, any user is now capable of changing their password. I hope everyone takes advantage of this of this feature because I know those 4 letter passwords are pretty annoying. Next, I made the forums much nicer looking, in every way. Also daddy and I are working on a friends feature. It doesn't do much... but soon you should be able to create a list of your friends. And there's a few minor changes. The mail icon on the sidebar now links to your inbox. More changes to come, so don't give up on me! >Spook October 1, 2010 That's right! I've decided to continue updating Gurupets. I won't stop until it's actually fun to play. Maybe it will even look professional! I'll definitely need to get new items, new pets, a new layout a lot of new features. I've been going around the site fixing up whatever I can. Lists of items in stores are now in a neat table as well as pets on user profiles and on the "my pets" page. I hope someone is reading this, --Spook March 12, 2010 Of course, I couldn't stop at just one cool game. I bring you, the Golden Poo Chase.  This is a game that is very similar to Snake. Using the arrow keys you move around, collecting golden poos. This game doubles your score so it's easier to get more points! Now the "Contact Us" link and the bottom of the page will take you to an e-mail form that you can fill out. Waay better than what used to be there. And now the important news.  Gurupets has a new flash game! That's right! And I, Spook, made it myself! (with a little help from dad) You can use it to get gurupoints! That's right! Candycanes have been replaced by these AWESOME cupcakes. I dunno about you but I definitely like cupcakes more than candycanes. Lets all thank Mia very, very much! Now you can search for your friends just by typing in their username! Another small new feature is a link on everyone's profile to send them gurumail. I hope you like the changes! I finally decided to get back to work on Gurupets because I couldn't leave it unfinished! I'm going to fix every glitch and pretty much make this site actually fun. I know that there was absolutely nothing to do before, but I hope that will change. I've already gotten to work on fixing up glitches and adding new features. The footer is now on every page, the color scheme has been fixed on most pages, you can now choose a gender for your pet AND there is a new Pet Profile page. I would also like to say that if you have any suggestions for Gurupets, I would love to see them posted on the forums! I've added some info on the Register/Join page about the new referrel system. I haven't started the referrel system yet but in should be done in a couple of days. Rainbow pets have come to rule the world and bring peace and happiness!  Second News for today: 103 members! This means, bring in the 100 Members Cake! It's in the foodstore ready to be eaten! I'll be there until we get 110 members. Nov 8, 2006   Hey, guess what!? ... ... ... Okay then, maybe I'll just tell you. We've got these candycanes that are different colors and cost a lot of GP. And, we've got these .. normal colored pets that need some zazz. Well, if you just happen to be rich enough or find a cheap one in a store, you could feed your pet a red candycane and it will end up red! Same with blue, green and brown. Much more to come!
